TEPCO submitted an application for the amendment to the safety regulations for nuclear reactor facilities of Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Station to METI on 28 April 2011.

The application was submitted in accordance with the amendment of the Rules on the Installation and Operation of Commercial Power Reactors in response to the incident at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station caused by the Tsunami generated by Tohoku-Chihou-Taiheiyou-Oki Earthquake, and the issuance of the order regarding interpretation of safety regulations on emergency generating facilities by NISA.

The contents included in the application are: to set forth the plan required for the activities, to allocate the necessary personnel for the activities, to conduct training for the personnel for the Activities, to allocate the generator trucks, fire engines, fire fighting hoses and other equipments required for the activities, and to have the periodic evaluation on the above actions and take necessary measures based on the evaluation result.

All units of Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Station achieved cold shutdown by 15 March 2011, and stable status of cold shutdown have been currently maintained, with the recovery of functions required for cold shut down such as power supply function from emergency diesel generator and residual heat removal function, the company said.
