The company will develop the classroom simulators using its Orchid Touch Interface solution, with the simulators expected to enter service in the second quarter of 2012.

The Orchid Touch Interface takes control and auxiliary room panel virtual displays to a new level of realism, L-3 MAPPS said.

Orchid Touch Interface’s touch screen interface allows students to operate the panel graphics manually and obtain life-like visual responses.

L-3 MAPPS will also emulate the qualified display processing system displays that are currently stimulated on the full scope simulator, using its Orchid Control System.
