The program includes a range of comprehensive measures to upgrade the facilities including technical re-tooling of the installations and replacement of catalysts in the reforming and hydro treatment units.

Main objective of the maintenance and upgrade programme is to ensure that engine fuels comply with the technical regulations on vehicle and aviation gasolines, diesel and marine fuel, fuel for jet engines and heating oil.

The overall investment in the product quality enhancement programme at the Saratov Refinery is expected to increase to RUB5.9bn ($192m) in 2011.

TNK-BP deputy executive vice president, Downstream Amir Feizulin said the company has stockpiled oil products to cover the refinery’s maintenance period, with additional supplies available from the Company’s other refineries with increase in demand.
