Both plants – the Richland facility in Defiance and the Stryker plant in Stryker – were operated by the company’s FirstEnergy Generation Corp subsidiary as peaking facilities.

The Richland plant has a nameplate installed capacity of 444MW, while the Stryker facility has a capacity of 20MW.

US-based FirstEnergy’s diverse power generating fleet features nuclear, coal, natural gas, and pumped-storage hydro and other renewables, and has a total capacity of about 23,000MW.
