The company will deliver 56 units of the V100-1.8MW turbine for the utility’s Lake Winds Energy Park in Mason County.

Delivery of the turbines is scheduled for the first half of 2012, with commissioning expected in the second half of 2012.

The Lake Winds Energy Park will generate enough electricity to power approximately 30,000 Michigan homes.

Vestas said this is the second commercial-scale wind power plant in Michigan to use Vestas turbines, and the first, Harvest Wind, includes 32 units of the V82-1.65MW turbine.
