Under the terms of the MoU, which is signed with the Gujarat Government, Sany Group will invest in wind power projects and develop 1000MW wind power during year 2017 to 2022.

The company will also invest in solar hybrid energy projects, manufacturing of equipments for wind power and Smart City development and Housing and industrialization.

Gujarat Industries Commissioner Mamta Verma said: "We look forward to timely completion of the projects and am confident that these projects will help us make Gujarat greener, smarter and future-ready.”

In addition to wind energy projects, Sany Group will invest in the development of another 1000MW of wind-plus-solar power generation project.

It will also invest in setting up a facility to manufacture wind turbines, developing one small size smart city and setting up a factory to produce pre-cast concrete for the mass housing projects and other real estate Projects, reported Press Trust of India (PTI).

The state government has also agreed to will provide necessary support to Sany Group to obtain necessary permissions, registrations, approvals, clearance from the concerned departments for the development of the projects.

The country earlier announced its plan to increase its installed solar capacity from current 4GW to 12GW by the end of next year and reach 100GW by 2022.

India also intends to increase its share of zero-carbon electricity generation capacity to 40% of 2030.
