The Greek section of the pipeline will be about 465km long and will commence at Komotini, where it ties into the national grid system.

This natural gas pipeline will then cross Greece, Albania and the Adriatic Sea, coming ashore in southern Italy.

The pipeline project will transport gas from the Caspian region via Greece and Albania and across the Adriatic Sea to southern Italy and further into western Europe.

EGL of Switzerland and Norway’s Statoil each hold a 42.5% stake in TAP, while E.ON Ruhrgas of Germany holds the remaining 15% interest.
