The company said that in submittals to regional transmission organizations MISO and PJM, it will propose seven distinct projects in Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio.
These projects, which would be constructed in phases over the next ten years, include more than 1,300 circuit miles of 345kV lines and 550 miles of 500kV high-voltage direct-current lines.
According to DATC, the individual projects will range from 65 to 696 miles and will have a total cost of about $4bn.
The company will submit these projects this week to MISO for inclusion in the Midwest Transmission Expansion Plan, and a subset of these projects will be submitted to PJM’s Regional Transmission expansion plan.
