The 213-mile, 287kV power line will link the Skeena Substation with a new substation to be built near Bob Quinn Lake in British Columbia.

Valard and its project partner Burns & McDonnell will provide services including design, engineering, project management, foundation construction, tower assembly and installation, installation of fiber and associated equipment, and line testing and commissioning for the project.

Valard will build the line and related structures for an estimated $170m, while Burns & McDonnell will provide engineering and procurement services.

Construction of the power line is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2013.
