The wind power project consists 40 turbines, that are expected to generate 240GWh annually, which corresponds to supplying 50,000 homes with electricity.
When fully operational, the power project is expected to deliver a twentieth of the wind power electricity currently generated by Vattenfall.
Total construction cost for the Stor-Rotliden wind farm is SEK1.5bn ($0.23bn).
Vattenfall president and CEO Oystein Loseth said the company plans to invest SEK26bn ($4.09m) in new wind farms up to 2015.
Vattenfall’s wind power assets generate a total of about 3.7TWh, which is equivalent to supplying almost 750,000 Swedish homes.
Vattenfall is Sweden’s wind power supplier and owns several wind farms, both onshore and offshore, in Sweden and elsewhere in Europe.
