The solar power project, located in Orlando, will generate enough power to subsidize 15% to 20% of the RSC’s annual usage.

When completed later this year, the rooftop solar installation is expected to produce about 1.9 million kWh of electricity per year, equaling the average annual energy usage of about 163 homes while reducing carbon emissions by nearly 1,300 metric tons annually.

Darden Restaurants president and COO Drew Madsen said the installation of solar panels enables the company to reduce the energy and water consumption of its business in the communities where it operates.
