Earlier, the nation announced plans to build research nuclear reactors and uranium enrichment facilities.
It also planned to build ten to twenty nuclear power plants to eventually generate 20,000MW of electricity to supplement the nations power needs.
Russia based Rosatom is currently completing construction at the 1,000MW nuclear plant in Bushehr, Tehran.
On completion, the plant will be the nation’s first nuclear plant to be connected to the national grid in late August this year.
The $1bn plant is expected to receive fuel from Russia, reports AFP.
