GCL-Poly Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director ZHU Gong Shan said “GCL Solar is focused on enhancing its in-house R&D capabilities and strives to implement the best-in-class technologies in the production of polysilicon and wafers. We have recently leased office space in Richland, Washington, USA for the purposes of setting up an R&D center. We chose this location due to relatively easy access to engineers and solar industry experts as well as the availability of advanced technology support facilities to assist in our R&D activities. We intend to recruit the best talents to help us improve on the efficiency of our polysilicon production process, develop advanced technologies to drive the build-out of a world-class wafer business, explore cutting-edge solar technologies to ensure future growth and profitability, as well as form strategic partnerships with world-class engineering and technical firms. Working in cooperation with the existing R&D center in Xuzhou, Jiangsu province, China, our US R&D center will focus on advanced next-generation solar technologies including new technologies for use in the polysilicon manufacturing process so as to further improve on production efficiency and strengthen the Company’s in-house R&D capabilities.”
