This Angra 3 nuclear power plant is estimated to enter into service in December 2014, Othon Luiz Pinheiro, president of Electronuclear said.

The Brazilian government intends to construct a nuclear complex with six plants in the northeastern region, each producing with a capacity of 1,000 MW. The government is also contemplating a similar complex in the southeastern region.

Pinheiro said that the recommencement of work means Brazil is returning to nuclear power generation.
