The drilling program for wellbore 6306/6-2 relates to the drilling of wildcat wells in production license (PL) 321, which is located 83 kilometers northwest of Kristiansund and 65 kilometers east of the Ormen Lange field in the Norwegian Sea.
Det norske is the operator with a 25% ownership interest, while the other licensees are StatoilHydro ASA and Talisman Energy Norge AS, each with a 20% stake, and Aker Exploration ASA with a 35% stake. The area in this PL consists of parts of blocks 6306/2, 6306/3, 6306/5 and parts of block 6306/6. The license was awarded in the 18th licensing round in 2004. This is the first well to be drilled in the PL.
The permit is conditional on the operator securing all other permits and consents required by other authorities before the drilling activity commences.
