Assuming a normal winter, the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE), average residential customer can expect to pay approximately $792 during the heating season, compared to $682 for the same period in 2007. This is primarily due to the increase in market price for natural gas.
Mark Case, senior vice president of strategy and regulatory affairs for BGE, said: We estimate the price for natural gas will be $1.11 per thermal unit, in comparison to $0.95 in winter 2007. Increased market prices for fuel and weather factor into the price we pay for home heating.
