Following this, CEZ has acquired the property share of approximately 99.98% in Skawina, in which it purchased the majority share of 75% in May 2006 from the US-based utility Public Service Enterprise Group.
The installed capacity of the Skawina bituminous coal-fired power plant amounts to 490MW. In addition, the CEZ Group owns the 238MW Elcho bituminous coal-fired power plant in Poland.
Martin Roman, chairman and CEO of CEZ, said: We have been interested in the state share in Skawina for a long time and so we are glad that we have agreed with the Polish state on the price acceptable for both the parties.
