Mr Springett joins Tullow with international oil and gas expertise, having worked with BP for 23 years. He is a chartered accountant, and has most recently worked as the group vice president for planning, reporting to the BP Group CEO and executive team.
Mr Springett replaces Tom Hickey, who gave notice of his resignation in April 2008. While Mr Hickey’s resignation from the board will take effect on September 1, 2008, he will remain with Tullow until the end of September 2008, ensuring an effective transition of his responsibilities.
