Lotos stated that it is seeking to expand its filling station network to achieve a 20% market share in highway fuel sales by 2012, following the completion of the main section of Poland’s highway construction program.

The company stated that the new franchise filling stations will be built in the Polish cities of Bydgoszcz, Szczecin and Krakow, along the highway network.

According to the news source, Lotos, which currently operates 350 filling stations in Poland, is targeting a 10% market share in retail fuel sales by 2012, compared to 6% in 2007, through the investment of approximately PLN1.1 billion in development activities.

Hanka Krzyzanska, Lotos Paliwa’s CEO, as quoted by Interfax, said: We are taking an active part in tenders for travelers service points, which will be created on the Polish highways. We have submitted our offer and plans concerning their development. We are counting on getting the most competitive locations.
