The plants commenced operations in June 2008. Both are reportedly making good progress towards full commercial operation. While neither has yet operated at nameplate capacity, they have each exceeded 90% and full capacity is expected to be reached shortly.

BioFuel Energy currently has two 115 million gallons-per-year ethanol plants operating in the Midwestern corn belt. The company’s goal is to become a leading ethanol producer in the US by acquiring, developing, owning and operating ethanol production facilities.
