The operation center will be co-located in the facility with GE Energy’s transmission and distribution business. The oilfield technology operations of wireline and drilling tools product lines incorporates the acquisition of Sondex in late 2007 and also includes the new open hole formation evaluation products.

The center will provide design and manufacturing, machining services, materials and parts warehousing, and a customer service support section.

The company will utilize the GE facility in Calgary to increase its space and improve its product and service offerings. The new center will enable streamlined manufacturing processes, a decrease in cycle time for production, and enhancement of the customer service environment.

GE intends to replicate around the world, this Calgary-operations model for its oilfield technology product lines.
