The new technology has been achieved by the Ecomaster’s R&D team and required an investment of almost $2 million, including the costs of innovation, testing and implementation of the new technology, purchasing the necessary equipment and staff training for using the new processes.

Initially, the company plans to eliminate 120,000 tones of legacy acid tars from the Vega refinery in Ploiesti, Romania; a process which is expected to be finished at the end of 2009.

In parallel, Ecomaster will also provide other Romanian companies with a domestic alternative to the technologies developed and implemented in the US or Western Europe.
