India’s director general of hydrocarbons has reportedly communicated with Reliance Industries (RIL) that the blocks have been confiscated and that RIL should immediately handover all related data, according to the news source.

The Indian government has set out that companies bidding for exploratory blocks under the country’s new exploration licensing policy (NLEP) need to commit to work schedules, which include geological and geophysical surveys and the processing and reprocessing of 2D and 3D data, in addition to drilling.

RIL has reportedly lagged behind on such a work commitment schedule failing to undertake the minimum prescribed work within the set timeframe.
