The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) is reportedly seeking to increase production levels from two million barrels of oil per day (bpd) to three million bpd, by 2009.

The Kuwaiti company stated that, for it to meet its production target of four million bpd, it needs assistance from international energy majors.

The news source noted that KPC is also in talks with companies to develop projects to harvest standalone natural gas for the first time in the country’s history.

The company has set a target of one billion cubic feet (cft) per day by 2015, from the 175 million cft per day that it has targeted for production in May 2008.
