RWE’s supervisory board and executive board have stated that Mr Bonekamp has decided not to renew his contract on personal reasons.
Juergen Grossmann, RWE’s CEO, said: Berthold Bonekamp has given his full support to the group’s restructuring process, which is currently being implemented. His ideas and proposals have influenced the way in which the new RWE is organized and structured. My confidence in Berthold Bonekamp and in his undisputed expertise is undiminished, and I have no doubts whatsoever that we will continue working well together even after his formal departure.
