The European Commission noted that the deadline for StatoilHydro’s acquisition of ConocoPhillips’s 274 Jet-brand fuel stations has been extended after the companies offered solutions to the antitrust concerns raised during EU investigation.
StatoilHydro is seeking to acquire 39 stations in Norway, 72 in Denmark and 163 in Sweden, as part of a deal with ConocoPhillips. The EC is expected to decide by May 13, 2008, to give its acceptance for the deal or launch a further 90-day in-depth investigation.
