The wind farm is located in Allen County, Kansas and is expected to begin operations next year.
With the transaction, the company has expanded its footprint in the state to a total of 600MW.
The company has already secured 1.5GW in long-term agreements in the country for its projects to be installed through 2016 and 2020.
The projects represent about 82% of the 1.8GW of its target capacity additions in the country for that period.
EDPR CEO Joâo Manso Neto said: “This agreement will allow EDPR to continue to execute its growth strategy based on the development of competitive projects with long-term visibility.”
“Contracts like PPAs, in which EDPR is a pioneer in the United States, will also form part of the future energy landscape in Europe, where they are still in very early stages of development.
“We expect to see increasingly more agreements of this kind to benefit both energy producers and consumers.”
Earlier this month, EDPR signed an agreement with Nestlé to power 80% its facilities in southeastern Pennsylvania with renewable energy. As per this 15 year PPA, EDPR will supply will expand the capacity of its 150MW Meadow Lake VI Wind Farm in Benton County, Indiana.
The expansion will increase the wind farm's capacity by 50 MW, which is enough to power approximately 17,700 homes for one year.
EDPR had said that construction on the expansion project will start in the next two months, and the facility will be fully operational at the end of 2018.
