The DOC won the framework agreement for a period of four years.
It has secured the subsea power cables project following the successful completion of the deployment phase for the Sandbank project earlier.
Under the agreement, DOC will support the installation, marine coordination and the offshore construction at the management level. Support for the smooth running installation management of Vattenfall offshore wind projects is another part of the contractual scope.
DOC will also provide services to Vattenfall in project documentation, quality standards of project implementation and vessel management, particularly cable-laying vessels.
Besides offshore interface management and project coordination, DOC also has vast experience in the construction support of offshore wind farms. DOC, founded in 2009, has been involved in a large number of offshore wind projects in the German North and Baltic Sea and in European projects.
Vattenfall operates 1,100 wind turbines onshore and offshore with an installed capacity of more than 2,500 MW.
The company’s ‘Wind’ division has operations in six European countries. Vattenfall intends to expand its wind capacity on land and at sea to 4,000 MW by 2020 for which it is investing €5.5bn over 2016–2020.
DOC managing director Oliver Spalthoff said: “DOC is proud to be able to support Vattenfall in the implementation of subsea power cable installations in future offshore wind farms.
