The company has received the notice of proceed (NTP) from CLP India for the project, which will feature 48 units of its 2.1MW wind turbines.

The NTP was given to Suzlon after CLP India secured the approval from the Rajasthan government to start work on the project.

After completion, the project will increase CLP’s wind power portfolio to about 1,000MW.

CLP India managing director Rajiv Mishra said India is the fifth largest country in terms of total installed capacity of wind power, with large reserves of untapped potential.

"Wind portfolio has been a key area of thrust for us over the past 4-5 years, with a sustained growth of about 200 to 300 MW every year and we are committed to growing it over the next few years as well," Mishra added.

Suzlon chairman Tulsi Tanti said the contract is another milestone for the company’s business in India.

"Through our comprehensive capabilities across wind energy value chain and end-to-end solutions, we will assist CLP India in further expanding their wind energy footprint in India," Tanti added.
