As per the contract, Nordex USA will supply 16 of its Generation Gamma N100/2500 turbines with a hub height of 100m for the Fourmile project in 2014. The company has also secured a 20-year premium service contract for the wind energy project.

Nordex’s Generation Gamma N100/2500 turbine is certified for wind class IEC 2. Nordex claims that the N100/2500 turbines promise an optimum yield for the Fourmile wind energy project in view of the moderate wind conditions.

According to Nordex, the cold-climate version of the turbines is being utilized considering the extreme climate with winter temperatures frequently dropping far below -10 °C.

In 2012, Nordex delivered 34 N117/2400 turbines for Exelon Wind’s Beebe wind energy project in Michigan. Currently, the company supplying an additional order for 21 identical turbines for the second phase of the Beebe project.

Nordex management board member Lars Bondo Krogsgaard said this marks a success for the company’s wind power technology and the Nordex team in the US.

"I am pleased that we have been able to score again in the Northern American market with another order for our customer Exelon Wind," Krogsgaard added.
