The company has received orders to provide 44 2.5-120 wind turbines for eight new wind farms in the country.

The wind turbines, which will be provided to Juwi, Pfalzwerke, Max Bögl Wiesner and Abo-Wind, will support Germany’s Energiewende directive.

As part of the deal, Gundersheim and Offenbach wind farms of Juwi will receive GE’s six units each, while Juwi’s Rehborn farm will secure 14 wind turbines.

Abo-Wind’s Waechtersbach farm and Max Bögl Wiesner’s Fuerth farm will receive three units each, along with five units for Bögl’s Kraefft farm.

In addition, Pfalzwerke’s Oberndorf’s farm will secure two units and Pfalzwerke’s Goellheimer Wald farm will receive five units.

Juwi Group CEO Matthias Willenbacher said that GE’s 2.5-120 wind turbines are a good fit for Germany’s low-wind speed regions.

"We chose these in particular because of their good cost-performance ratio, and we expect high reliability based on the long history and experience with former GE turbine types," Willenbacher added.
