The company has installed Ice Bears at commercial businesses, situated in Orange of Connecticut to provide both thermal energy storage and demand response.

In partnership with the University of New Haven’s Tagliatela College of Engineering, the monitoring and evaluation of the performance of these units is being done, noted Ice Energy.

Ice Energy corporate development and legal EVP Mike Hopkins said that Ice Bears have had great success thus far in providing a solution to meet these utility and customer needs.

"We have seen a marked increase in demand for energy efficiency technologies in the northeast," Hopkins added.

In partnership with the University of New Haven’s Tagliatela College of Engineering, the monitoring and evaluation of the performance of these units is being done, noted Ice Energy.

The units have been purchased by UI with funds as part of the Energize Connecticut initiative, while deployment is one of three pilots underway in New England.
