The Rivière-du-Moulin wind project, which will include 175 wind turbines to produce 350MW, is the largest wind farm in the country under a single power purchase agreement, noted EDF EN Canada.

EDF plans to commission the first phase of 150MW by the end of December 2014 and the second phase of 200MW in December 2015.

Huron-Wendat Nation grand chief Konrad Sioui said the agreement also provides the company with the opportunity to invest financially in the project.

"Implementing this agreement will generate substantial economic and material improvements for all members of the Huron-Wendat Nation and for future generations who will enjoy tangible benefits from this project," Sioui added.
