Delmarva Power signed a 20-year power purchase agreement in 2008 for land-based wind power as part of its renewable energy portfolio for meeting Delaware’s clean energy goals, which require 25% of the company’s energy supply to come from clean sources by 2025.

The 38MW land-based wind farm is owned by enXco, an EDF Energies Nouvelles Company.

Located in Logan Township, Blair County, the 38MW Chestnut Flats wind farm features 19 wind turbines, manufactured by Gamesa, each having 2MW of rated capacity.

Delmarva Power will purchase 100% of Chestnut Flats’ output.
