Evoqua worked with its sales partner BissNuss on the upgrade project. The Envirex Series 400 RBC will retrofit the existing tank structures at the plant.

The St.Clairsville wastewater treatment plant was looking to change the existing rotary biological contactors along with equipment that could treat biological oxygen demand (BOD), which could breakdown organic material and suspended solid could also be easily removed.

Evoqua’s municipal products and services division will supply and install 10 new Envirex Series 400 RBC units. These units will arranged in rows of two, with five RBC installers in parallel flow trains for optimum performance.

The RBC system features a heavy duty shaft designed to handle high fatigue resistance; three media densities for flexible treatment.

It also features a hot-dipped galvanized corrosion resistant media support system, and instrumentation to measure the equipment and biomass loads to ensure long life.

Some benefits of the RBC system include stable process results with little maintenance, small footprint with low headloss and it also the system consumes less energy.
