The two ground-mounted solar projects, which are sized at 277kW and 87kW, will deliver clean and reliable power to one of the ranch’s reservoirs and selected well pumps.

Rio Bravo is expected to save about $2m of solar power over the course of 25 years.

With the help of solar systems, Rio Bravo will produce enough clean energy to reduce its carbon footprint by nearly 11,000 metric tons of CO2.

The adoption of solar for Rio Bravo is fueled by the short return on investment coupled with the energy independence gained by offsetting close to 100% of the ranch’s electric utility costs on the meters tied to solar power, the company said.
