As a result, Holcim will accelerate the develop new renewable energy capacity nationwide, helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the power sector.

Holcim environmental and government affairs vice president Jason Morin said Holcim takes the management and reduction of carbon dioxide emissions very seriously.

"We are committed to managing the total impact of our energy consumption throughout the entire organization," Morin said.

The EPA Green Power Partnership is available to renewable energy leaders whose green power use meets or exceeds EPA’s green power use requirements.

According to the EPA, electricity generation can be one of the largest environmental impacts associated with an organization’s operations.
