Two Rivers purchased the land back from real estate developers in the last month and has the land back into agricultural production by this month, growing premium organic alfalfa hay for a national dairy.
Two Rivers chairman and CEO John McKowen said the farmland and water rights that the company recently purchased had lain fallow for several decades.
The company intends to enter into an agreement in next month to provide municipal water services with a portion of the purchased water rights for municipal users in Huerfano County, Colorado.
