The contract, which requires N.E.I to supply four 6,350 cubic meter/hr VOS Systems for HSHI, adds to the company’s previous order for six 4,400 cubic meter/hr VOS Systems being built by Samgong, the company’s licensee and strategic partner in Korea, for Dayang Shipyard in China.

The HSHI and Dayang orders represents the growing list of VOS Systems installed or now on order for tankers, bulk carriers and container vessels, making VOS ballast water treatment system the technology of choice for all three ship types.

N.E.I. CEO Jon Slangerup said that Samgong has made a significant investment in resources needed to aggressively pursue the market for BWTS in Korea, and that investment is beginning to pay off.

“For N.E.I., it validates our strategy of partnering with respected industry leaders in major marine markets like Korea as a means to accelerate our sales and global market penetration,” Slangerup said.
