The upgraded software allows the customers to determine their approach towards their home energy analysis; either with the full report upfront, or looking up to specific energy use and cost questions.

The new platform has expanded the home profile inputs and also presents the customized energy-saving recommendations for each home as low-cost/no-cost or longer-term investment options for easier prioritization.

This latest upgrade, which marks the culmination of the company’s two years of research, development and user testing, also includes tools for immediate consumer feedback and utility follow-up.

HomeEnergyCalculator has already been deployed by electric utilities such as Georgia Power and Cobb EMC, with nearly 500 utility clients of Apogee slated to complete activation of the new platform over the next month.

Apogee co-founder and chief software architect Joel Gilbert said that the company’s applications are about energy efficiency education, analysis and action.

“This new platform provides for a more robust analysis, more interaction with customers through feedback systems and clearer communication about potential savings to motivate consumers to take action,” Gilbert said.
