The EVs, which are locally designed, manufactured and assembled by Dongfeng Motor, a Chinese automobile manufacturer, have undergone a three-month trial operation and are now fully operational in Shanghai.

The EVs, powered by lithium batteries require two-and-a-half hours to be fully charged and are capable of traveling more than 120km on a full charge.

The electric delivery vehicles, which are designed to meet the distinct operational requirements of the express industry, feature monitoring systems that record power consumption data during operation, allowing for continuous optimization for delivery routes.

TNT CEO Peter Bakker said that TNT is committed to sustainable development of its industry across the globe and is taking actions to lead the introduction of zero-emission delivery vehicles in China.

“With China being one of our most important markets, today’s electric delivery vehicle launch is a meaningful step towards our commitment to a sustainable future,” Bakker said.
