Building on the i.MX31 and i.MX27 PDKs, the kits include development boards, layout and design files and software in a choice of Linux or Windows Embedded CE operating systems. The i.MX35 PDK boards support the entire i.MX35 family of products.

The i.MX35 PDK’s integrated modular design is engineered to allow an efficient development process – a critical benefit for accelerating hardware and software integration. The PDK simplifies development with three separate, reusable modules that work together for streamlined software creation. The i.MX35 PDK features:

CPU module: a single-board computer containing the i.MX35 processor based on the powerful ARM11 core, memories and Freescale’s MC13892 power management IC;

Personality module: a peripherals board that manages advanced end-product functionality, such as LCD with touchscreen capabilities, Ethernet and USB;

Debug module: a common interface board for existing PDKs. The module contains the functions necessary for software and applications development, including serial, Ethernet and JTAG interfaces.

About Freescale’s i.MX35 applications processor family:

Freescale’s i.MX35 processor family based on the ARM11 core provides an optimal balance of performance, power consumption, connectivity and media capabilities necessary to drive today’s sophisticated applications. The i.MX35 processor serves a broad range of automotive, industrial and general-purpose embedded applications.

i.MX351: For automotive including automotive audio and audio connectivity;

i.MX353: For consumer and industrial applications, packed with multiple connectivity options;

i.MX355: Same as i.MX351 with the addition of an advanced Image Processing Unit (IPU);

i.MX356: Same as i.MX351 and i.MX355 including the connectivity and IPU with the addition of an OpenVG 1.1 2.5D hardware accelerator;

i.MX357: Same as the i.MX353 and additionally offers graphics support for sophisticated user interfaces for high-end applications with an OpenVG 1.1 hardware accelerator.
