The project will be held at Kaltim-5, Pupuk Kaltim’s grassroots 2,500 metric tons per day ammonia plant located in Bontang, East Kalimantan.
Under the contract, KBR will provide the licensing, basic engineering package and related services for Kaltim-5.
The plant will replace an existing unit, allowing the client to decrease wasteful gas consumption and operate more efficiently.
Toyo Engineering said the fertilizer complex is being constructed to meet the growing demand for urea fertilizer in the region, and will be based on KBR’s Purifier technology which offers the lowest proven energy consumption.
KBR is a global engineering, construction and services company supporting the energy, hydrocarbon, government services, minerals, civil infrastructure, power, industrial, and commercial markets.
