GE, as per the agreed terms, will provide seven 2.5-103 GE wind turbines for the facility as well as working with the project EPC contractor, Bester Generation, to handle their erection and commissioning of the turbines.
The scope of the contract includes a 10-year, full service agreement to support the operation of the Cerna wind farm
Energia Verde Ventuno director Mario Costariol highlighted the scope for developing wind energy generating assets in Romania.
The financing for the construction of the wind park has been provided by a leading European commercial bank and Quercus Assets Selection while European Union through the Sectoral Operational Programme will be the co-financer.
GE Renewable Energy general manager Stephan Ritter noted, "The Cerna project is the latest example of our commitment to support the growth of wind power in Romania and across Eastern Europe.
"The use of GE’s advanced wind turbine technology enables high efficiency and reliability and significantly increases wind park production capacity and productivity for our customers in the region."
