Remy’s electric motor will be used in electric 2010 GM Chevrolet Equinox that AMP unveiled earlier this year at its US production headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Remy’s HVH250 electric motors enable the AMP electric powertrain to offer a range of up to 150 miles per charge, with a top speed of 90 miles an hour. The vehicle can go from zero to 60 miles per hour in approximately eight seconds, with a charge voltage of either 110V or 220V.

The electric motors feature Remy’s patented High Voltage Hairpin (HVH) technology with torque and power density that is expected to provide added speed and range to AMP’s EVs.

Steve Burns, CEO of AMP, said: “The entire AMP team is intensely focused on providing our customers with the highest quality products and services when they purchase their Amp EV.

“That is why it was critical for us to find partners whom we can trust and count on. Remy International is that kind of partner. Remy’s brand represents reliability and their electric motor is the best motor on the market today.”
