The Punta del Tigre "B" plant will be built on the Punta del Tigre "A" plant site and will be the first combined-cycle facility in the country.
Located in Colonia Wilson, 40 km west of Montevideo the facility will have a gas pipeline from the Cruz del Sur pipeline, connected to a future regasification plant that will supply natural gas to the new plant.
The loan will also support the environmental management program for the National Electricity Generation and Transmission Authority along with the construction of the power plant.
