The Herbert and Greefspan projects, with a combined capacity of about 33MW, will be located at Douglas, Northern Cape Province – to be constructed by Tenesol.
The solar plants will feature 138,000 Tenesol TE 240 photovoltaic solar panels on single-axis trackers.
AE-AMD Renewable Energy in collaboration with the IDEAS Fund, an infrastructure fund managed by Old Mutual Investment Group of South Africa, will own the said power plants.
The company will also resell the electricity to Eskom after the completion of the projects and Tenesol has a 5% share in both the projects.
