The project which is currently under development is slated for completion in March 2012.

At full capacity, the project will produce enough energy to power more than 11,000 Canadian homes.

Suzlon will provide operation and maintenance services for the project, pursuant to a ten year warranty, maintenance and service agreement.

The S97 turbines, to be installed on 90-meter hub height towers, will comply with the low voltage regulation requirement.

Suzlon Wind Energy Corp CEO Andris Cukurs said this is the company’s first order for the new S9X turbines in North America for this project.

"The S9X-2.1 MW turbine is an evolution of Suzlon’s proven technology platform and every aspect of the turbine features enhanced design to deliver a higher return on investment for the customer," said Cukurs.

North America based Suzlon Wind Energy Corp is a subsidiary of India based Suzlon Energy India.
