The project, located in southern Nebraska’s Richardson County and Kansas’ Nemaha County, which marks RES Americas’ second wind energy project in the state, will be powered by forty 1.5MW GE wind turbines.
The company has started construction on the project and expects to complete the work by December2010.
RES Americas has won the contract through a bidding process. The project company is associated with a tri-party partnership between Gallop Power, Gestamp Wind North America and Banco Santander.
Chris Hills, vice president of construction Projects at RES Americas, said: “Nebraska has great potential for clean, renewable energy and, through the construction of Flat Water Wind Project, RES Americas will continue to help the state realize its clean energy goals.
“This project will mark our first partnership with the project sponsors and we look forward to establishing a strong professional relationship with these companies.”
