The South Santa Cruz and Barataria ultra-deepwater fields are located in Mississippi Canyon, offshore New Orleans, in the Gulf of Mexico, in water depth of approximately 2,000m.
Under the contract, Technip will be responsible for the project management and engineering services; fabrication and installation of approximately 23km of pipe-in-pipe flowline; and design, fabrication and installation of flowline end terminations.
Scope of work under the contract also includes fabrication and installation of jumpers as well as pre-commissioning for the flowline.
Technip will manage the overall project from its operating center in Houston, Texas, US.
The firm will manufacture the flowline system at its spoolbase in Mobile, Alabama, US.
Technip’s Deep Blue deepwater pipelay vessel will be used for the offshore installation work which is scheduled to commence in the second half of 2016.

In 2014, Technip secured a contract from Deep Gulf Energy II to develop the Kodiak field in the Gulf of Mexico.
The project includes a subsea tie-back to the Devils Tower Truss Spar situated in Mississippi Canyon Block 773.
